This PDF digital download includes 19 Phonetic Short Story Cards for Level 2 of the Mechanics of Reading sequence. Each story focuses on one specific sound, using only decodable words the child can read independently at this stage.
Target syllables are color-coded — blue for consonants and pink for vowels — so the child can see the focus sound within each story. The stories are short, coherent narratives with natural punctuation including periods, commas, question marks (¿?), exclamation marks (¡!), and the conjunction "y."
